چکیده

We concentrate our efforts on building virtual modelling environments where the content creator uses controls (widgets) as an interactive adjustment modality for the properties of the edited objects. Besides the advantage of being an on-line modelling approach (visualised just like any other on-line VRML content), our approach provides also instant visualisation and an intuitive, graphical editing modality. Although visual modelling environments are more powerful in content creation than a text editor, our aim is to include certain domain knowledge to extend their capabilities. Our most recent system is a 3D character modeller capable of handling H-anim or other types of hierarchies (based also on H-anim components) and the geometry attached to them. The modelling is based on the properties of regular grid geometries, on H-anim hierarchies and where applicable, on 3D character symmetry. The novelty of our approach consists of 1) natural graphics components; 2) integrating the interface elements into the virtual environment itself; 3) rule based modelling of 3D characters; 4) on-line modelling.

Comparative modelling of 3D-structure of Geobacter sp. M21 (a metal reducing bacteria) Mn-Fe superoxide dismutase and its binding properties with bisphenol-A, aminotriazole and ethylene-diurea

Superoxide dismutase play important roles in iron-respiratory bacteria such as Geobacteraceae as an antioxidant defense, and probably an effective enzyme of electron transfer network. Regarding the application of iron-respiratory bacteria in environmental biotechnology particularly biodegradation and bioremediation, understanding the mechanism of inhibition/induction of superoxide dismutase by ...

How to Support Collaborative Modelling with the Emerging Standard MPEG-4 MU

In a Collaborative modelling environment, multiple users may interact in a virtual environment to deform or modify shared 3D objects (e.g., for modelling and visualization of virtual prototypes). The challenges to collaborative modelling are related mainly to four aspects: user interaction with the virtual modelling environment, 3D objects concurrent editing, consistency maintenance among clien...

Multi-user interactions in the context of concurrent virtual world modelling

Distributed virtual reality, thanks to newly proposed paradigms, offers interesting perspectives to virtual world modelling. Our main interests are in applications which allow users to edit and deform existing shapes. This paper presents a concurrent virtual world modelling application base on those ideas. As well as a first implementation based on VIPER (VIrtuality Programming EnviRonment) a g...

A Methodological Approach for Enterprise Modelling of Small and Medium Virtual Enterprises based on UML. Application to a Tile Virtual Enterprise

Enterprise Modelling has been used successfully for years with different purposes. Nowadays, there are a lot of languages, methodologies and tools related to Enterprise Modelling, even for modelling Virtual Enterprises. However, some of the Enterprise Modelling weaknesses have not been solved yet. One of the most important is the lack of interoperability among enterprises that use different Ent...

Interaction-Centric Modelling for Interactive Virtual Worlds: The APIA Approach

Conceptual modelling studies the different abstraction methods of the real world. The conception and the execution of virtual worlds depend strongly of the type of conceptual models. Existing modelling methods such as object-oriented modelling are not appropriated when the main concern is the dynamic reusability and interoperability. Such a reusability and interoperability must be free of any h...

Physical modelling concepts for a collection of multisensory virtual musical instruments

This paper discusses how haptic devices and physical modelling can be employed to design and simulate multisensory virtual musical instruments, providing the musician with joint audio, visual and haptic feedback. After briefly reviewing some of the main use-cases of haptics in Computer Music, we present GENESIS-RT, a software and hardware platform dedicated to the design and real-time haptic pl...
